FEEDING RECOMMENDATION FERTO-LAC 3 / DAY APPLICATION • Feed a quantity that meets the needs of the horse. • Divide the daily ration into at least 2 – 3 meals per day. • Good quality forage and fresh drinking water must be available at all times. • For feeding foals we recommend HAVENS Opti-GROW; a special feed designed to support an optimal growth of a foal in the first 18 months of its life.
|Bodyweight mare||Early pregnancy 1-8 month||Pregnancy 8-11 month||Lactation 1st – 3rd month||Lactation from 3rd month|
|400 kg||1.0 – 2.5 kg||1.5 – 3.0 kg||2.0 – 4.0 kg||1.0 – 3.0 kg|
|600 kg||2.0 – 3.5 kg||3.0 – 4,5 kg||4.0 – 6.0 kg||2.5 – 4.5 kg|
- It is recommended that Foals are fed HAVENS Opti-Grow from 2 weeks prior to weaning until they are 18/24 months old.
- To reduce the risk of infertility it is recommended that in the two weeks prior to stopping feeding Ferto-LAC 3 the ration fed should be reduced tby 20%.
- Large mares at peak milk production can produce up 5% of their body weight in milk daily (20/25kg). It is therefore essencial that mares have continuous access to clean fresh water.
- Ferto-LAC 3 can also be used to feed active stallions (while they are covering mares). Though in rest periods a stallion can be fed as any other horse at rest for example with a feed such as Cool-Mix.
